What’s the Time? TV (Kerfewmusic)

I’m Kerfew (UK), a British Asian entertainer, DJ, rapper, and content creator. Born Chetan Kumar Patel in Leicester to Indian parents from Uganda, I started in music early, playing the naal at Gujarati festivals with my father.

I began DJing in the 90s, hosting radio shows on Kickin FM and Fresh FM. In 2004, I founded MIC (Mother India’s Children), blending Asian culture with hip-hop. My solo albums include What’s the Time? (2006) and Mr. Wolf (2018), with features on BBC Asian Network, BBC 1Xtra, and Capital Radio.

I’ve performed with legends like Apache Indian and Wu-Tang Clan’s GZA. Recently, my bilingual Gujarati raps on TikTok, including the viral Top Boy Slang Guide in Gujarati, have gained global recognition.
