ItalianDramaCompany

The Italian Drama Company was founded in 1999 by Tom and Nella Padula to perform theatrical and other performance works in the Italian language. We are based in Melbourne where there is a strong Italian speaking community. We identified the need to maintain Italian as a living language within the broader English speaking Australia.
We believe that people from different cultural background should retain the language of their family's origin and master English in order to enrich their personal communicative skills.
Amateur theatre work can be an on-going opportunity to retain and enrich one's own bilingual and indeed multilingual reality. Our home base is Teatro Padula in the Insegna Building in Brunswick in the City of Moreland, close to Melbourne's central business district.
