Leiv Igor Devold (b. 1977) was born in Warsaw but very early he moved with his parents to Oslo where he grew up. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in media studies from the University of Oslo, with a two-year specialization in documentary directing at Lillehammer University College. After attaining his BA, he returned to Poland to complete a Master of Arts degree in directing at the Polish National Film School in Lodz (PWSFTviT), graduating in 2009.
In 2016 his cinema released documentary "The accidental rockstar" won the audience award at Trondheim International Film Festival Kosmorama, - for the "best Norwegian film 2015". The film also won a "Kanon" - award for best sound and an "Amanda" - award at the Norwegian film festival in Haugesund for best editing.
Since finishing his education Devold has had a steady output, directing numerous short films, documentaries and commercials. He also gives lectures in directing at the University of Oslo, the Noroff Institute, the Nordic Institute of Stage and Studio (NISS), Nordland College of Art and Film and at his old school, Lillehammer University College.
He is currently working at The Norwegian Cancer Society responsible for their film production.
