Stray Dogs is a story about a person trapped in typical social structure. The Protagonist Tony lives his middle class dreams and desires. He is an employee in a manufacturing industry. The hierarchy always dominates his freedom. He becomes tired of the pressure exerted on him at work front. Being suppressed by the superior, he can't keep his commitments and priorities in personal life. The story unfolds his journey in which he shifts his tangent and starts performing the role of manipulator. Being secluded in a hotel room, he creates the same social pyramid and experiences the effect of his dominance on a waiter. Finally he confronts the reality of this vicious circle, where everybody is trapped within it including a stray dog.
"Shuruaat" the HumaraMovie & PVR Director's Rare short film festival was mentored by Imtiaz Ali, Vikas Bahl, Anand Gandhi & Vikramaditya Motwane. From an initial submission of over 400, the final 8 films, made on the theme of "Interval" will be released through PVR Director's Rare from the 15th of August, 2014. Humaramovie organised the short film competition at the Wassup Andheri Festival in March 2012. 12 shortlisted candidates (out of close to a 100) made their films under the mentorship of Anurag Kashyap & Imtiaz Ali. There were 6 each in the two teams culminating in a thrilling competition. Imtiaz judged movies under Anurag's mentorship, while Anurag did the same for Imtiaz's movies. The audience decided on the final 2 movies and chose the winner.
5000 people in the audience watched the movie and decided the winner- the greatest award of all.
