America needs more explorers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. We need to educate and inspire more kids from all segments of the population to pursue STEM careers, particularly those from communities that are chronically underserved. For three decades and counting, one organization has been dedicated to doing just that. Founded in 1989 by Ray and Carmela Mellado, Great Minds in STEM is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2018. Thanks to a grant from Lockheed Martin, we are able to tell the story of how far this organization has come – and how far we still have to go.
