Bongane Radebe is a young man from the humble streets of Thembisa. After loosing both his parents at a tender age, Bongane had to face the hardship of learning to stand up for himself. Being the youngest of four siblings these hardships were not easy on him however he found solace in music.
He started playing the claret at a young age, and he excelled in this without any formal training. Bongane got an opportunity to share his talent when he got an opportunity to teach music at The Music Academy of Gauteng.
He got introduced to the saxophone and started playing the alto saxophone and got really hooked on it when a woman he fancied mentioned that he would sound great if he were to stick to the saxophone. Bongane took a leap of faith by leaving his music teaching and perusing his career as a music artist.
He has since worked with various artists around the country and that he has helped him b build up the courage to record to record his first album.
His album is a saxophone rendition of the South Africa’s best album “Buyelekhaya” by Nathi Mankayi.
“Bongane was excited about this project and yet he was nervous , “this was not the easiest project to work on as Nathi Mankayi is the coutry’s big artist and I was not sure I was fit enough to translate the multi-platinum album into such a melodic state“.
Buyelekhaya Saxophone Rendition is meant to go beyond the South African Borders and will be able to reach those that cannot the language but the melodic sound of the sax will definitely enhance the love the love they have for Buyelekhaya.
