Title: Rehabilitation of a Water Well in Italy

Problem: Contamination of well by manganese oxide, calcium carbonate, iron related bacteria and sulphur reducing bacteria.

Equipment: BoreSaver IKL Pro, BoreSaver Ultra C Pro, BoreSaver Liquid. R CAM 1000. Caustic soda pearls to deal with sulphate reducing bacteria (SRB)

Information: This video shows the inside of a well, pre and post treatment, using BoreSaver well rehabilitation products. The well was contaminated with IRB (Iron Related Bacteria), calcium carbonate, manganese oxide and sulphate reducing bacteria (SRB) which was reducing flow, output and clogging the well and water supply equipment. An R-CAM 1000 was used to survey the well to establish the extent of the problem.

From the footage at (0:59) you can see carbonate and algae build up on the well walls. At (1:05) you will notice floating IRB in the well. At (1:18) IRB particles and masses have fallen to the bottom of the well and appear jelly-like.

At (1:36) the video shows the well two days later after it was treated with a BoreSaver solution of IKL Pro + Ultra C Pro+ BoreSaver Liquid and caustic soda pearls. The BoreSaver treatments have removed the manganese oxide, calcium carbonate and iron related bacteria.

The well performance improved from 12m3/hr with an 8m drawdown to 21m3/hr with only a 4.4m drawdown in the well.
Previously the well required cleaning every few months. Following the treatment, pumping has continued without problems for well over 6 months with little sign of deterioration in performance or a return of the deposits and bacteria.
