The Global FoodBanking Network (GFN) is an international organization dedicated to creating and strengthening food banks and national food bank networks. We currently work with food bank systems in 23 countries.
To alleviate global hunger by collaborating to develop food banks in communities where they are needed around the world and by supporting food banks where they exist.
We envision a thriving network of food banks throughout the world leading to increased food security and the alleviation of hunger and malnutrition.
The Value We Bring
GFN's goal is to effect permanent and positive change in communities by leveraging and aligning resources among the public, private, and volunteer sectors.
Most important, for those in need, we represent more food, as well as help on the path to self-sufficiency. Food banking connects people with vital resources to break the cycle of poverty, and functions as a bedrock of stability in the community.
For our members, we represent a source of expertise and guidance. Being part of The Global FoodBanking Network also provides members a means for enhancing relationships with partners, headquartered outside of their country, who want to address hunger locally.
For governments, we represent a more effective alignment among public, private, and voluntary sector responses to food insecurity and a model for adding scale to the mission.
For our donors, we represent a global interface to the problem of hunger, allowing them to efficiently address the issue wherever they do business or live.
