Find out more about Drake Music and the work we do to break down disabling barriers to music. We believe in equal access to music-making for everyone and we work with disabled musicians, schools, arts organisations, technology developers, music hubs and more to make that happen.
Assistive Music Technology (AMT) can help more people to make music by creating instruments that are uniquely set up to suit the needs of the player. From simple mechanical adjustments, to sophisticated computer-controlled sensors, the technology has come on leaps and bounds in the last decade and is still progressing at a rapid pace. As technology develops further we at Drake Music work to put accessibility at the heart of new developments so that disabled and non-disabled people can have the same access to creative expression through music. Here is a playlist of videos from Drake Music and elsewhere on the internet which show AMT in action.
Amazing videos of Mi.Mu gloves - cutting edge wearable technology for the performance and composition of music. We are collaborators on this project with Imogen Heap and are working with disabled musician Kris Halpin to explore the possibilities for the gloves as a piece of assistive music technology which will break down disabling barriers to music.
