    "Work (Water)" was installed at the Dallas Museum of Art by Sadamasa Motonaga’s daughter in February 2015 as part of the DMA’s exhibition "Between Action and the Unknown: The Art of Kazuo Shiraga and Sadamasa Motonaga" (on view February 20 through July 19, 2015). Motonaga created Work (Water) (originally titled Liquid: Red) for Gutai’s "Experimental Outdoor Exhibition of Modern Art to Challenge the Midsummer Sun" in July 1955. This novel work—deemed “the world’s first water sculpture” by Yoshihara, Gutai’s founder—would be the first of Motonaga’s many works using water as a primary medium. Show less
