Ayurveda is an ancient form of holistic medicine developed in India over 5,000 years ago which is still widely practiced. Ayurveda strives to keep balance in the body, mind and spirit through proper nutrition, exercise, control of the senses and lifestyle. The body and mind are regulated and influenced by three primary Doshas (internal forces) known as Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Ayurveda recognizes that every individual has a unique balance of doshas that creates thier Prakruti (body constitution). Based on your unique Prakruti, Ayurveda makes very specific nutritional recommendations. If imbalances and symptoms of disease have begun, an Ayurvedic specialist can determine your Vikruti (current dosha imbalance). Based on the Vikruti, Ayurveda recommends foods to avoid or favor, Ayurvedic herbs, detoxification, rasayana (rejuvination), yoga (therapeutic poses, breath and meditation) and lifestyle modifications. An Ayurveda specialist may also recommend healing subtle therapies such gems stones, aromatherapy, sound healing, mantras, color therapy, energy work and chakra balancing.

We are Christie Smirl and Kathy Bolte. We call our Divine Partnership “Ākāśavāni”. This beautiful Sanskrit word means "celestial announcement from sky" or "sky-voice". Ākāśavāni offerings include Wisdom Circles, Immersions, Mantra Workshops, Kirtans and Retreats. We practice Kirtan and mantras as a form of meditation through music. This form of Nada Yoga practice transforms negative states of mind and assists us toward a more sattvic, peaceful state. As we become more peaceful and connected to our divine selves, there is a ripple effect into our homes, workplace, communities and the collective consciousness.
