Thew new Margaret M. Walter Wing of the Columbus Museum of Art opened Sunday October 25 with a free Community Grand Opening presented by PNC Arts Alive. The new modern wing opened with inaugural new wing exhibitions Keeping Pace: Eva Glimcher and Pace Columbus and Imperfections by Chance: Paul Feeley Retrospective, 1954-1966. Old favorite works of art are on view again including Spirit by Mel Chin; Endeavor by Lino Tagliapietra; Nocturne Navigator by Alison Saar; Morning Sun by Edward Hopper; and more. Nearly 3 dozen works never before displayed at CMA are also on view. The day was capped off by a family-friendly dance party with music by Transit Arts, and a Dead Artist Dance Battle.
CMA is conducting interviews with Photo League photographers. From Wikipedia: The Photo League was a cooperative of amateur and professional photographers in New York who banded together around a range of common social and creative causes. The League was active from 1936 to 1951 and included among its members some of the most famous American photographers of the mid-20th century.
