A prokimenon with verses, taken from the Saturday Vespers service of the Byzantine Slavonic Churches. This particular version is powerful, a well measured acclamation suited to the words being proclaimed. It is sung by the Boyan Ensemble of Kiev, making use of the traditional Liturgical language of the Byzantine Slav Churches – Slavonic. The twist, however, is that the lyrics as appearing below and in the video are transliterated into the modern Cyrillic alphabet. The English translation is included.
Господь воцарися, в ліпоту облечеся.
Дому Твоєму подобаєт святиня, Господи, в долготу дній.
Ібо утверди вселенную, яже не подвижится.
The Lord reigns, He is clothed in majesty.
Holiness befits Thy house O Lord, for length of days.
For He has made the world firm, which shall not be moved.
