Shady Isle Pirates Society

The Shady Isle Pirates Channel:

The Shady Isle Pirates is an all-ages registered non-profit family friendly society based in Steveston, British Columbia. The mission of the group is not only to promote and preserve nautical heritage while raising money for charitable cultural organizations, but also to experience maritime culture and arts from a hands-on live re-enactment approach.

Currently, we are actively operating the mini-brigs, Liberte and Adventure in messabouts, and in festivals, as well as working on costuming, historical weaponry, and practicing traditional music. Hundreds of man hours go into maintaining the brigs each year from her volunteer crews. A percentage of any monies earned are donated to local charitable groups - such as nautical heritage sites, and cultural projects.

We aim to delight and encourage active participation in maritime arts by engaging in charitable character and helping our community whenever possible.
