In honor of Mother's Day, Miki is joined by Jared Finkelstein and Kerry Tepperman in working through situations related to Mothers. And in a new interview segment, special guest Arnina Kashtan, an NVC Parenting Coach, talks with Miki about how to build strong relationships between mothers and children. Scenarios in this show: Two siblings argue about spending Mother's Day with mom when one wants to break the tradition because he doesn't like how he is treated in "But you have to come."; A mom and her adult child struggle over her desire for more time with him in "You're suffocating me!"; and a mom tries to cope with her 11 year old who doesn't want to go to school in "Don't make me."
What you say next can change the world. Segal, Marc, Newt, and Itzel join Miki for a show full of common struggles and new ways to approach them. A mother deals with her teenage son's hostility, an employee struggles with a talkative co-worker, a stranger attempts to interceded in a parent/child conflict, and a man talks to his wife about her eating decisions.
Alternative Families is the subject of this month's show. Miki is joined by veteran cast member Sigal Shoham and newcomer Smita Khatri in two new situations: A child and her Mom struggle over who to celebrate on Father's Day, her biological father or her step-father, in "Which Dad?" ; and a foster parent called in with this: her attempt to resolve a conflict with an angry foster teenager who locked her foster sibling out of the car in "You like her best!" , and then the foster mom and the teenager's biological mother work to find parenting boundaries in "Fine, I'll stay out of it."
