BAM has been recommended as preferred bidder for the tender to build V&A Museum of Design Dundee.
Pending approval at a meeting of the City Council’s Policy & Resources Committee on Monday evening, the company will work closely with the project team on the detailed building specification. Dundee City Council, which is leading the procurement on behalf of a consortium of public sector partners, intends this process to conclude with a fixed price contract.
Philip Long, Director of V&A Dundee, said, “This is an important step for all of us in building the home of V&A Dundee, a world-class visitor attraction and flagship of the waterfront regeneration. BAM Construction has an excellent track record in the delivery of prestigious cultural projects in Scotland.
“V&A Dundee is very much here already of course. We have a dedicated team who are busy making an impact across the country, through a variety of community engagement and learning initiatives as well as bringing world-class exhibitions and leading international designers to Scotland. We are all delighted to see this next chapter in our story begin.”
