  • BREEF Storm Watchers Sea Camp

    During the summer of 2016 BREEF spent three weeks on San Salvador, New Providence and Eleuthera, teaching campers between the ages of 8-14 about the connection between oceans, weather and climate. They also learned the ways in which our marine ecosystems, such as coral reefs and mangroves, help to protect our coastlines as they absorb energy from waves during storm events. The Storm Watchers Sea Camp video, released on the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Joaquin, highlights the experiences of campers on San Salvador who had to endure the full force of that powerful storm.
