(This video is in Thai without subtitles). Mekong Tourism Forum 2018 Press Conference with H.E. Weerasak Kowsurat Thailand's Minister of Tourism and Sport. The press conference was held at the Ministry of Tourism and Sport in Bangkok, Thailand on 4 June 2018.
H.E. Weerasak Kowsurat is currently serving his second terms as Thailand's Minister of Tourism and Sports. He once served as Vice Minister for Culture and Vice Minister for Social Development and Human Security; and Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister on International Affairs.
He was twice elected Member of Thai Parliament and recorded the youngest Secretary to the President of Thai National Assembly, ex officio Speaker of the Senate and Chairman of the Constitution Tribunal at the age of 24.
Received an honour when finishing his Law degree (LL.B) from Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Weerasak later graduated with a Master Degree of Law (LL.M) from Harvard Law School in the USA.
Voted Man of the Year in 2004 on International Women’s Day by Woman Status Promotion Association and received an outstanding Executive Award from UNIFEM for campaigning to stop violence against women & children in the same year, Weerasak was also announced Child Rights Protection Ambassador by the NGOs Children Protection Working Network Committee.
Weerasak had been Executive Director of the International Institute for Trade and Development (ITD), a public organization jointly established by UNCTAD in Geneva and the Royal Thai Government; Secretary-General of the Federation of Thai Motion Pictures and Digital Contents Associations; Chairman of 2 government enterprises : Thai Convention & Exhibition Bureau and the Board of Thai Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration. He sat as Board Member and Adviser to Boards of Directors of many corporations, such as International Law Office, automotive company, oil refinery flow technology service provider, finance securities company, etc.
