In today's woodworking project, we're going to make a shop stool for my woodshop. Thanks for taking the time to check this out, comments and likes are always inspiring.
I needed a shop stool. And wanted to make something beautiful, functional, and that would also last forever. And this is what I came up with.
The bar stool seat is a solid piece of black walnut, with a live edge. The legs are from a Douglas Fir No. 1, select structural beam that I had laying around. And the horizontals are from some virtical grain Doug Fir stair treads I pulled out of a house built in the 1950's. The grain on these is crazy tight, and I love the red color after I applied the finish.
All the joinery is wedged through tenons, 12 in all. It was a challenge, but I love this shop stool that could pass as a bar stool.
I hope you enjoy watching it!
