The Lower School at Zurich International School is a global community where more than 500 students from over 50 nations, speaking 40 different languages, feel at home. The academic curriculum is developed by our teachers and aligned with international benchmarks. Our goal is to meet each student where they are, to ensure that all are challenged and supported to achieve more than they thought possible! Children’s learning needs are met by providing a wide range of academic and co-curricular skills and competencies
The Upper School at Zurich International School is a global community where over 500 students from over 55 nations, speaking 45 different languages, can feel at home. The academic curriculum in Grades 9 and 10 is developed by our teachers and aligned with international benchmarks. In Grades 11 and 12 students can choose to enrol in the International Baccalaureate diploma, Advanced Placement courses, or ZIS-developed courses.
The Mattern Award is named for the first headmaster of the school, an educator renowned for his ability to inspire and influence students and faculty alike. The award recognizes a former faculty member who has provided an exceptionally high degree of individual attention to, and concern for, students in all areas of school life.
As a non-profit organization, ZIS relies on fundraising for educational enhancements and to create our unique "ZIS Experience." The Annual Fund is the school’s primary fundraiser. It has an immediate impact on students and teachers by funding programs and improvements that go above and beyond what tuition provides.
