Martin Øverby

Hey! I'm a 21 year-old music composer from Norway, with a dream of one day becoming a composer for film & media! I deal primarily in orchestral compositions.

I had some education in music composition during High School but I am mostly self-taught.

My influences are many, and they keep piling up in here every time I discover new composers and styles that I want. I'm a very adoptive person, and I adopt and combine styles that I hear & enjoy, to try and make my own. Obviously as an avid gamer, I have a lot of experience with the Final Fantasy franchise so Nobuo Uematsu is one of my primary influences; I just love his music and his style, and I incorporate a lot of his techniques into my writing.
Other influences obviously include Danny Elfmann, Hans Zimmer, Denny Schneidemesser.
One of the greatest influences to my music however, are the works of composer Elmer Bernstein who is probably best known for his musical score to the film, To Kill a Mockingbird.
