The EFM32 Happy Gecko family is supported by Silicon Labs’ Simplicity Studio development platform, which helps developers move quickly from ideas to working prototypes and simplify low-energy design. The Simplicity Energy Profiler enables real-time energy profiling and debugging of code.
EFM32 Happy Gecko microcontrollers are also a perfect place to start with the ARM mbed ecosystem, which now includes the new power management APIs developed by Silicon Labs and ARM. These low-power mbed APIs are designed with low-energy application scenarios in mind and allows rapid prototyping also of energy constrained IoT designs
The USB is a full-speed/low-speed USB 2.0 compliant USB Controller that can be used in various device configurations. The on-chip 3.3V regulator delivers up to 50 mA and can also be used to power external components, eliminating the need for an external LDO. The on-chip regulator allows the system to run from a battery utilizing the full voltage range of the EFM32 still being compliant with the 3.3V +/- 10% USB voltage range.
