In the University of Washington’s College of Arts & Sciences, undergraduates are more than students. They are passionate scholars and researchers like UW Biology senior, Jesus Martinez-Gomez. Growing up in the farming community of Ferndale, Washington, Jesus never imagined where his seedling interest in science would take him. As an undergraduate researcher over the last four years, Jesus has studied the mutation of genes in flowers. His tremendous success as a student and scientist at the UW has been made possible by numerous scholarships and UW programs that have given him the resources to thrive.
