On November 25, 2014, U.S. Embassy Vilnius and local partner Investors’ Forum hosted the largest event to date in Lithuania focused on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (T-TIP). The half-day conference, titled “The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership: A Strategic Opportunity,” sought to raise awareness and build support for T-TIP in the Baltics. U.S. and European speakers highlighted the agreement’s strategic and economic benefits. Featured speakers included the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary Kurt Tong, Vice President/International for the RAND Corporation and former U.S. Ambassador Charles Ries, and the Swedish Trade Envoy, Ambassador Jonas Hafstrom.
