Typhoon Haiyan – one of the strongest storms ever to make landfall – brought terrible destruction to the Philippines. More than 6,000 people died. Nearly 6 million children were affected.
After the storm, UNICEF provided children and families with desperately-needed water, health care, nutrition and protection. Today, UNICEF is supporting the Filipino people in their efforts to rebuild—helping reopen schools, fighting malnutrition and working to reduce the risk to children in future natural disasters.
