Every county in the state of California has a Cooperative Extension office that focuses it's research, education and outreach on issues affecting residents in their respective counties. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people that don't know about us or get us confused with other agencies. We hope to alleviate some of the confusion and are always working diligently to expand our reach and impact.
As many agricultural growers know, the Asian Citrus Psyllid (ACP), that has devastated the citrus industry in Florida, has made it's way to California. Though the huanglongbing (HLB) disease that the insect has been know to carry hasn't been spotted, it is only a matter of time before it is. Growers are taking precautions to retro-fit their existing greenhouses to be fully enclosed and to train up staff to be more vigilant in their pest prevention techniques.
