The Shape of Life

The Shape of Life, a primer for understanding the evolution of the animal kingdom and animal biodiversity, was praised for the quality of its science-based content, style, storytelling and pioneering techniques in underwater and deep-sea film-making. Developed first as a revolutionary eight-part television series that reveals the dramatic rise of the animal kingdom through the breakthroughs of scientific discovery, the Shape of Life (shapeoflife.org) provides content, in the form of short video clips, from this series. All videos align with the National Science content standards for grades 5-9 and California 7th grade science standards and are provided for free use in the classroom.
