On July 11, 2016, at Thomas Edison Elementary School in Daly City, about 75 Big Lift supporters and participants – including parents of many of the Inspiring Summers “scholars,” as they are called – gathered to hear about the program and visit some Inspiring Summers classrooms. The Big Lift initiative recently marked the implementation of Big Lift Inspiring Summers, a new program to help more young children in San Mateo County have enriching, fun experiences over the summer, increasing the chances that they’ll make great progress during the school year.
