The Push for Change is a national awareness and youth empowerment campaign to prevent youth homelessness.
On May 1, 2016, Joe Roberts began pushing a shopping cart 9,064 km across Canada.  The trek started in St. John’s NL and successfully ended 517 days later in Vancouver BC, on September 29, 2017.

The shopping cart is a symbol of  homelessness. It represents the very outcome we are trying to avoid for future generations. 

Along the way The Push for Change team had over 453events with schools and community partners, our focus is to inspire and engage Canadians to join PFC in a series of “calls to action.” These educational interactions helped us raise awareness and funds. 

Thanks to a generous contribution from UA Canada our legacy will continue in the classroom.  Our goal is to continue working with law enforcement and school partners to inspire, educate and empower young people to take action towards ending youth homelessness.
