Songadeewin of Keewaydin opened its doors on Lake Dunmore, Vermont in 1999, as a camp for girls, age 8-15. Like Keewaydin Dunmore, Songadeewin combines the values of wilderness tripping with a strong in-camp program to offer a safe, nurturing fun-filled environment in which each camper is allowed to develop at her own pace. The program draws on the rich traditions of the earlier Songadeewin camp (1921-1975) and its rich Keewaydin heritage, but is designed to meet the specific needs of girls today.
Established in 1910, Keewaydin Dunmore is one of the oldest and most venerable camps in the country. Nestled on beautiful Lake Dunmore in the Green Mountains of Vermont, the inspiration for Keewaydin is the same now, as it was when it began: to provide boys with summers filled with fun, adventures and challenges through our rich in-camp activity program, our wilderness trips and simple living in the beautiful outdoors. Keewaydin Dunmore is a sleep-away camp for boys, age 8-16.
