Dassault Systèmes’ Passion for Innovation Institute is a DoTank whose purpose is to make the wildest dreams come true. Following the projects co-created by the Passion for Innovation team for ten years, the Institute mission is to coproduce and share disruptive innovations combining art, science and technology.
The Institute’s approach lies in four actions :
Challenging by questioning the status quo and forming unexpected unions within culture, education & research fields
Co-creating value with our partners by coproducing projects which make imaginaries real
Preserving memory, life & nature
Sharing our innovations collections broadly and in the long-term (architectural heritage, living arts, archeology, astrophysics, …).
In 2005, the pilot project Kheops was born in collaboration with the architect Jean-Pierre Houdin, creating the first collection « architectural heritage », later broadened with Giza 3D with Harvard, Paris 3D Saga with historians & archeologists of the city and the Cordouan lighthouse with the French Ministry of culture.
Since then, the Institute carries on its preservation initiative with the « industrial heritage » collection, created in 2012 with La Douce by François Schuiten, extended with They invented the D-Day.
In addition, the PI Institute collections tackle essential topics such as environmental challenges (Icedream with Georges Mougin), health (Sensivise with the Hauts Thébaudières Institute) or cultural & artistics issues, particularly in the living arts (M. & Mrs Dream with the Pietragalla-Derouault company), movies (tomorrow’s movie theater with Europacorp) and museography (Scriptwalker with Enki Bilal) …
