"State of Reform" is a conference focused on bridging the gap between health care policy and political reality. Too often, those with good ideas for reforming health care don't have a solid grasp of how the legislative process works. Those who understand politics don't always have a very deep grasp of the intricacies of the health care system. In truth, health care and politics both reflect the parable of the blind men and an elephant. In both cases, many of us touch only a part of the health care -- or political -- system. In the worst case, when we compare notes with other "blind men" in the room, we find we have more on which to disagree than agree. Taking the blinders off can help. Communication and education do, too. The purpose of this conference is to foster a dialog of ideas, support networking among professionals, and promote civic leadership and engagement on health care reform. We can't succeed unless you participate. Will you join the conversation?
