Since 1966 Sofidel has been producing tissue paper for hygienic and domestic use. Today, thanks to its sustainable business model, the Group has net sales of 1,724 million Euros (2017), with a presence in 13 countries and a production capacity of more than 1 million tonnes of tissue paper per year.
This was possible by using a full integrated production system and seeking constant technological innovation for the automation and optimization of processes. More than 6,000 people work every day to build a sustainable and inclusive future for people and the planet, in line with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This is why Sofidel uses 100% of pulp certified by independent third parties under forestry certification schemes.
In addition, in 2009 Sofidel joined the WWF Climate Savers program. These are the new goals set for 2020: -23% direct CO2 emissions, -13% indirect CO2 emissions, 8% of energy from renewable sources on the quantity of fuel consumed annually. For Sofidel, there is much more beyond the paper production.
