In 2004, Tamarack opened with a grand vision. Men and women worked tirelessly to create a place like no other. They laid infrastructure, built amenities and cut a ski mountain from the forest with some of the highest vertical drop in the Pacific Northwest.
Great things happened here. Yet there were bumps in the road. Things weren’t always perfect, but brave leaders and thousands of loyalists kept the resort moving forward. Year after year the people who loved this place – the Tam Fam – made this mountain their home, even if home was hundreds of miles away.
Today, a new group of trailblazers are pursuing the dream of Tamarack. The resort’s development will move forward with modern day sensibilities and a wink to the former vision.
Although nearly 15 years have passed since the first skiers and riders hit the slopes, the mentality of providing access to the best of Idaho has never left. Our future vision is simple: build a resort with unique amenities and a vibe like no other. We want a place where guests can enjoy a sense of discovery both on and off the slopes. A place they can call their own.
Big things will be happening over the coming year. We’ll be installing a new chairlift, purchasing new grooming equipment, cutting brush and resuming construction on our village.
The future is exciting and we want you to join us. With a 2019/20 season pass you can be a part of our progression. You’ll enjoy new amenities from first chair to last call. Best of all, as a member of the Tam Fam, you’ll be shoulder to shoulder with us as we embark on a journey toward a bright future.
Here’s your chance. Buck the status quo and leave the old choices behind. Stake your claim at one of North America’s youngest destination resorts. Join us in 2019/20 and make your mark.
WILDWOOD CHAIRLIFT - Opening Winter 2019/20
This fall, we’ll be installing a new high-speed, detachable 4-person chairlift. This new chair will provide access to several hundred acres of the resort’s most consistently pitched intermediate and expert trails along with gladed tree skiing. The Wildwood trails haven’t been lift-serviced since 2009, and this chairlift installation will dramatically expand the Tamarack ski experience.
VILLAGE DEVELOPMENT - Beginning Spring 2019
The resort will resume development of its base village in the spring of 2019. Construction crews will work toward finishing the exteriors of the buildings and completing over 50 new condominiums. Our construction team will also finish the first phase of retail, dining and guest service spaces. As commercial spaces are completed in the village the services in our existing buildings will be moved, bringing vibrancy to North America’s newest ski village.
GROOMING FLEET - Arriving Fall 2019
Our grooming fleet will be expanded with the addition of two vehicles. One of those groomers will be equipped with a winch allowing us to groom our summit cornice and other steep terrain – some of which has not been groomed in years.
TRAIL MAINTENANCE - Beginning Summer 2019
Our team will be clearing brush to reestablish the entire Wildwood trail system, improve existing slopes and open previously unskiable areas. Multiple crews will be tackling terrain across the resort to remove undergrowth in an effort to open terrain earlier and provide a better snow surface from boundary to boundary.
