What should an acting showreel have;
1/ At least 3 scenes showing different characters.
2/ Each scene should have a range of emotions.
3/ You should have scenes that suit your look and castibility.
4/ Short scenes. A monologue should be no more than approx 60 seconds. Can be as short as 10 seconds.
Duologues can be longer, but it's rare that a duologue would be longer than 2 minutes. 
Keep scenes as short as possible (as long as they show the above bullet points).
5/ Montages are out! Don't waste the casting directors time by showing short clips without dialogue.
6/ Good quality clear audio.
7/ Be directed by someone who knows how to work with actors - ideally a film director - not theatre.
