It has been a devastating and incredible journey here at The Shlama Foundation since we began. This video highlights the beginning of it all to today. Although many charities have come together to help, and the situation has greatly improved, no one has been able to return to their home yet. The battle with ISIS is in everyone's yards. If it was not for everyone's financial support and for their believing in us, nothing would have been possible. Thank you, and we hope we can continue to count on your support. May shlama ("peace") always be with you.
With more than 120,000 of our people losing their homes on August 6, we have a housing problem in our hands. Rent in the Kurdistan region can be very pricey, and with Shlama being a small NGO, we look to work with other groups that can support us with hosing.
At Shlama, we believe that working together is imperative to an evolving community. We love connecting our community and growing together! When we join forces, we can make a difference in bigger and more unique ways.
On this page, you will find a list of housing Shlama is working on with other organizations. We strongly encourage all organizations we work with to meet Shlama's standards of transparency, including videos, photos and all receipts for each project.
If you know any organization in Iraq that would like to team up on a project, let us know!
Nineveh Plains residents are in need of much help for important medicine that keeps them alive. Currently, the situation is worse as they are living in camps with no income to be able to buy medicine on their own.
With a simple $ 25 donation, you can contribute to sending medicine to our people.
We are currently taking any donation to buy medicine for the make-shift clinic in Ankawa's Mart Shimoni Camp which houses thousands of Assyrians.
