Sea Power Ltd

The Seapower Platform has a proven power output based on numerical analyses and tank testing. These results have been validated by independent companies and academic researchers, as well as using the company's in-house wave flume. Seapower is forming a scientific committee that will independently validate our results. For further academic research, our Power Matrix and WEC geometries are available on request.

The patented Seapower Platform captures energy in one degree of freedom (pitching about a hinge). However, it absorbs wave energy in more than one 'mode'
capturing energy from waves in heave and pitch mode, so that total energy extraction will always exceed that of single mode devices such as Point Absorbers or OWCs.
The front pontoon and larger rear pontoon respond at different times to the same wave, with parametric coupling of the motion. This leads to excellent power absorbed at the WEC hinge and the lowest cost of energy.
