Responding to citizen and business complaints, St. Petersburg Police is working to clean-up the streets.
Officers completed the second of two citywide prostitution sweeps this month, ending with a total of 13 arrests. All of the arrests were along 34th street north. This is part of an ongoing effort.
On August 15th, officers arrested 9 people and on August 27 police arrested 5. The charges include solicitation for prostitution and possession of drugs.
One interesting note, is that yesterday’s operation began at 7am, and most of the arrests occurred in the morning as people were heading to work.
