Recently, we announced our support for a program at Sabarmati Harijan Ashram, an institution established a century ago by Mahatma Gandhi and his wife Kasturba. This program provides young women — Harijan girls, or so-called "untouchables" — with education, shelter, and workshops focused on empowerment and critical thinking. Like Gandhiji, we believe in the power of one person to enact great change. One teacher can plant the seeds of curiosity in a classroom full of children. One empowered student can become a mentor for other marginalized individuals.
