SATO48 creates the annual 48-hour film challenge, scores of shorts, and a broadcast TV show. Our mission is to provide a real-world proving ground that challenges filmmakers, at all skill levels, to produce impactful short films on short notice. We strive to be the premier destination for those eager to deliberately challenge themselves in the pursuit of making their mark on the world.

SATO48 is the popular (and short) version of "Springfield and the Ozarks 48-Hour Film Challenge," during which filmmaking teams make an original 5-minute movie from start to finish in one weekend — a fast and furious 48 hours!

The twist is that the filmmakers don't know what their movie must be about until it is revealed to them in the form of an Inspiration Package.
