7th District strikes again Currently riding high with his recently published house album The Playlist, Lorenzo Al Dino aka 7th District presents with the release of Running in Circles another high-shaker. The fascination of this track lies in its cinematic-style production, in combination with evocative lyrics and complete with the truly special vocalist Siri Svegler - mysterious and hypnotic in both ways.
This song talks about the search for answers and looks on processes in life that constantly repeat themselves. This unfussy trip is accompanied by restrained slightly edgy guitar sounds which have been left wonderfully unpolished. Minimalist house elements and an infectious hook are driving the track forward. The special touch with intense quality comes from the catchy voice of Siri Svegler. She is going to knock you out.
A seductive playful voice
The singer songwriter Siri Svegler from Sweden is one of the hottest insider tips in Europe’s folk, pop, jazz and country music scene. With her emphatic voice she gives the track a crystal clear sound as well and leaves a special atmosphere come from the speakers that can not be categorised. Her singing is an undisputed delight – seductive and sensual, open and intelligent, charming and intimate – with a sense of darkness.
What the press says about Siri Svegler:
"Why the Swede is still a secret, is not clear to us" (Glamour)
"If I would find out her secret recipe, I'd fill it in bottles and sell" (Seal in Vanity Fair)
"For a couple in love ... Siri is the perfect accompaniment" (Bunte)
How it came to the collaboration with Siri Svegler? "A few months ago I was in Berlin and was contacted by a label that asked for my opinion about Siri's voice - I was thrilled immediately. It was clear for me that I definitely wanted to work with her and so I asked if she wanted to be involved in my new production. She has an exceptional voice", describes Lorenzo al Dino the first approach.
The video shoot: Let’s see what happens
The pattern of the ongoing redundancy in the song has also been implemented in the corresponding video: "We just jumped into a car and drove through the town. I was more spot on, music on and let's see what happens. We did not really have any plan what would be next", says Arantxa Belmar. The video in the ‘comic’ style runs completely in the rhythm of the track - including stop's and go's at traffic lights and intersections.
The feedback from the club to the remixes are decisive
The single annexed are three remixes, outlining the wide range of productions by Lorenzo Al Dino and his guests. "The remixes have been selected by a range of DJ inserts. The response from the public at night has been the decisive factor. Less in the commercial sense, but more on the feeling section. For example, when I played a remix at the Jockey Club (Ibiza) and people would came to me to ask: "Which track is that?” Then that rework makes points. With the help of other djs this has been added up and the result were finally these 3 remixes."
1. Extended Mix 2. Patrick Kong Remix 3. BadAss Extended Dub 4. Sascha Kloeber Remix 5. Slavaki Remix 6. Dee C'rell Remix 7. Thomas Lemmer Remix
The song "Running in Circles" is another logical puzzle piece from the album The Playlist on which the tracks document the musical tension of a whole dj set. Flirting across genres Lorenzo Al Dino spins something fresh from his roots in dance music. He is renowned as a selector with impeccable taste and a technical whiz behind the desks. Lorenzo Al Dino strikes again.
