  • 5.2kJ Homemade Impulse Generator 550 joule tests (Capacitor Bank Mk.II)

    1,314 views 1 year ago
These are 550 joule discharge tests of my home made Impulse Generator, that uses a 300 volt 116,000 microfarad capacitor bank. It is controlled by a Raspberry Pi running Debian (Linux) OS and plugs into a regular 240 volt outlet. The bank is made up of 20 x 300 volt 5,800uF electrolytic capacitors connected in parallel, and housed in an old microwave oven. These tests were conducted at 113 volts, a little over 10% of its maximum rated power. Show less
