Cuban-born, Spain-based saxophonist, jazz pianist and composer, Rafael Garcés is a versatile musician whose sound combines Afro-Cuban roots, modern jazz, improvisation and a strong classical background.

Winner of the 1987 Amadeo Roldán National Prize for Classical Saxophonists and the 2002 International Jazz Performers Prize in Granada with Aborigen Quartet.

He has performed at the Jazz Plaza Festival in Havana and with numerous international artists and projects. His album Next Station has been featured by RTVE Discópolis Jazz and his work has been recognized by specialist jazz media, including Jazz Terrassa and Tomajazz.
