The term 3D Printing is used to describe additive manufacturing processes which encapsulates a range of rapid prototyping technologies. The 3D printing technologies offered by Prototype Projects include Stereolithography, Selective Laser Sintering, Fused Deposition Modelling and Polyjet 3D Printing.
Vacuum Casting is a fast and cost-effective prototyping method for producing small numbers of highly accurate polyurethane prototype parts with characteristics and quality comparable to the final product (e.g. for functional testing and / or marketing). It is possible to produce parts to extremely fine levels of detail, keeping concessions to a bare minimum.
FDM is used to make strong, durable parts from ASA plastic, ideal for functional testing, jigs and fixture assemblies.
If you need a prototype model for functional testing with specific properties (e.g. for heat resistance, durability or strength) FDM is a great option. It is low cost, quick and ideal for small runs of prototype parts.
