The voters of Pierce County voted the Port of Tacoma into existence on this day in 1918. Since then, the port has grown to be one of the busiest ports in the country. Our real estate and marine cargo operations now support more than 29,000 jobs and generate nearly $3 billion in economic activity in the region. Thank you to everyone who played a part in our development. Your work set the stage for the continued progress of next 100 years. Help us celebrate our centennial by sharing our video with your friends and family and tell us your port story in the comments of this post.
