Bahrain Polytechnic student project to support the agriculture sector and farmers in the Kingdom of Bahrain in line with the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD).
The video highlights three types of planting methods
• Traditional Farming
• Hydroponic Farming
• Vertical Plantation
With the new methods like Hydroponic and Vertical, local Bahraini people can have their own small farm in their garden or rooftop of their houses. This supports Bahrain's economic sustainability in the Kingdom of Bahrain in line with the Bahrain Vision 2030.
Hydroponics is a method of growing plants using mineral nutrient solutions, in water, without soil. The benefits are:
• Easier to Maintain
• Efficient water usage
• Less Land Surface
• No Soil
Vertical farming is cultivating plants on vertical surfaces. It can use water only similar to Hydroponic or the traditional method of soil.
• Less Space
• More Affordable
• Maximum Crop Yield
• Growing Cycles are Consistent and Reliable
