In late December, Page 31 sat down with actor Michael Kenneth Williams for a photo shoot interview at the Sky Room NYC rooftop lounge. Williams discussed a plethora of topics with Page 31 including his breath taking performances on season 4 of Boardwalk Empire, his role in the Oscar nominated historical drama 12 Years a Slave, his upcoming blockbuster remake of The Gambler starring alongside Mark Whalberg, his complete legacy.
In addition Williams spoke in detail about preparing his character Chalky White for the unexpected death of his daughter Maybelle by using Lori Perry's Up Against The Wind record off the Set It Off Soundtrack as a motivational piece. He also explained how is HBO schedule prevented him from taking on the role of Django in Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained, and why he feels its important to tell the story of slavery through cinematography.
