An animated look at an Open Farm Sunday event ahead of Open Farm Sunday 2015 on the 7 June.
On Sunday 7 June hundreds of farms across the country will be opening their gates to visitors for Open Farm Sunday.
A visit to a farm is your chance to discover the story behind the fantastic food our farmers produce - from meat, milk, cheese, and bread, to many of your favourite fruits and vegetables. It’s not all about food – farmers look after the countryside too!
Come and learn how farmers plant wild flowers, look after hedgerows to encourage wildlife on to their farms, and manage soil, water and energy.
You can also find out the important role played by bees, butterflies and bugs in pollinating crops and flowers. If you love gadgets then a visit to a farm on Open Farm Sunday won’t disappoint either as there is plenty of machinery and technology to be seen. You may even be able to take a Tractor and Trailer tour round the farm
Above all, Open Farm Sunday is a great day out for all the family. Each event is unique and activities range from farm walks and pond dipping, to sheep shearing and milking demonstrations.
And most of the events are free too!
So take the whole family and experience all the sights, sounds and smells of the farm, and celebrate British farming and food with us on Open Farm Sunday.
