Oklahoma Medals for Excellence are awarded annually to outstanding Oklahoma teachers, one each at the elementary, secondary, community college/regional university and research university levels. In addition, the foundation presents a Medal for Excellence to an exceptional administrator from the elementary or secondary level.
The David and Molly Boren Mentoring Initiative was established to promote the growth and development of quality youth mentoring programs statewide. These videos highlight the efforts of mentoring programs and individual mentors throughout Oklahoma.
For many public school students in Oklahoma, alternative education programs offer smaller class sizes, flexible learning options and a supportive environment to help students overcome challenges and reach their potential. The Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence salutes such programs and has created this award to annually recognize an exceptional alternative education program among its peers.
The Foundation for Excellence is bringing colonial American history to life for Oklahoma schoolchildren through the Colonial Williamsburg Teacher Institute fellowships, Electronic Field Trip subscriptions and Colonial Day at the Capitol.
