Northern Pass is an electric transmission line project that will bring New Hampshire and the rest of New England 1,090 megawatts of clean, competitively-priced hydropower. The line will cross the border with Canada in Pittsburg, N.H., and continue south 192 miles to Deerfield, N.H., where the energy will enter the New England electric grid. Roughly 80 percent of the route will be along existing transmission line corridors or public roadways, including 52 miles of underground line in and around the White Mountain National Forest. This reliable and affordable source of power will create jobs, lower carbon emissions, and bring a wide range of other benefits exclusively to New Hampshire.
